Merry Christmas from the shoe!

What a year! I'm going to make a resolution to write more often, but work and school for me often get in the way of personal blogging!

Was it a scam? I got a call saying I "won" a free trip to Florida, well not exactly free, but for under $300, not including travel, and there will be some taxes to pay, we will have a vacation this year!

The Shoe is looking good this time of year, with the tree up and some presents getting wrapped, but not many, because the kids talk us into opening early almost everything that comes in, so we have to keep everything hidden until almost the last minute!

Question, why will I take a leap of faith and sign up for a Vacation package without really sure of the legitimacy, but I'm waiting until we have the money to sign up for the Dave Ramsey class? Bad choices, probably, so I'll sign up for the class with the last pennies we have and hope it works! This is what I do know... We can't go on in financial ruin forever, we need the class! I am excited for what the new year brings, so let's ring it in happily.

The luckiest day

Yesterday was the luckiest day in a while.  We stopped by the Doctor's office after school to pick up Gus' prescription, and Sally, our favorite receptionist said, you're early for the baby's appointment.  Oh, yeah, I said.  I was thinking it was coming up soon.  You've got a half hour, she said.  We'll be right back with Teddy, I said.  So we raced home, got him, came back, and he had his one year check up.  Just one of those days.  I had wanted to take him in all weekend, he was fussy, acting like he had a cold, and coughing a little.  He is 19.2 lbs.  Had an ear infection.  Got three shots, and blood drawn for his anemia.  But what luck that fate had me go there and find out that he needed to go, and we just took him, no questions asked.  He got what he needed, medicine for the ear ache, and I got reminders for the next few appointments, just in case we forget them, too!
Thank goodness for reminder calls, which I didn't get this time, so I blame them!

Today is also Gus' 9th Birthday.  He is such a sweet boy.
